Michele and Kevin had a classic and romantic Colorado wedding, sharing their vows at the Three Trees Chapel in Littleton, CO before dancing the night away at their Westin Denver downtown hotel reception.
This quaint, super sweet little chapel is tucked in the foothills with natural light and views of the hogback; it’s romantic, beautiful, and the perfect spot for a classic fairytale style Colorado wedding!
The Westin has the most epic escalator, providing the perfect opportunity to match chic city downtown with soft florals, a stunning lace wedding gown, and a super fun couple from California. I absolutely love working with couples who are planning their Colorado weddings from out of State!
Three Trees Chapel + Westin Denver Wedding – Michele & Kevin
My amazing associate photographer Shea spent the evening before the wedding with Michele and Kevin at their rehearsal dinner, where they welcomed family and friends at Elway’s in Cherry Creek. (I photographed their wedding; make sure to ask about my associate photographers and options available to photograph your rehearsal dinner!)
The next morning we began the day at the Westin Denver, where Michele and Kevin had surrounded themselves with their close family and wedding party.
Champagne was in abundance! I absolutely loved this custom embroidered handkerchief that the Maid of Honor gave to Michele. It said “My best friend, to catch your happy tears on your wedding day“. Coincidentally, Michele’s Maid of Honor is also named Sunshine!!!
The Westin Hotel offers such a beautiful space to get ready, offering views, natural light, and a clean, modern aesthetic with plenty of room to move around.
The girls all chose classic wedding day up-do’s with lots of curls and romance.
Kevin and his groomsmen were also celebrating with champagne and toasts in their getting ready room, after getting into their formal black suits and bowties.
Kevin & Michele chose to wait for their ceremony to see each other for the first time.
When the time came for Michele to step into her gorgeous lace wedding dress, she was emotional and excited. I absolutely LOVED the button detailing and sheer back on her a-line gown, paired with a simple tulle veil.
Michele and Kevin chose very romantic and classic wedding details for their ceremony at Three Trees Chapel. They had a custom unity candle, a custom wooden card box with their names and wedding date, and beautiful florals using garden roses, tulips, and soft greens by Bonnie Brae Flowers.
The aisle was decorated with lanterns and flowers arranged on the pews.
Michele said that she was most looking forward to her and Kevin seeing each other for the first time, a moment that they saved for their ceremony.
Harpist Mary Keener played beautiful music for them.
The flower girl and ring bearer both cried all the way down the aisle!
Michele cried too. Her father walked her down the aisle while friends and family looked on, and Kevin focused on her.
Her gorgeous bridal bouquet had her Grandmother’s brooch pinned to the stems; I love sentimental details like this, a small thing that the bride could keep close to her heart.
Laughter and tears and joy were shared. I love when couples really choose to focus on the emotions of their wedding ceremony, rather than just rushing through it.
I love the beautiful natural light that pours in from the huge window at the front of the Three Trees Chapel. Kevin and Michele lit their unity candle while family, friends, and his two children looked on.
Married at last!!!!
It was windy and a bit chilly outside (April weddings in Colorado an be such a toss up when it comes to the weather) but Michele, Kevin, and their wedding party toughed it out for some beautiful photos in the trees.
The light was absolutely stunning for their wedding party photos, and I cannot get over the lace detailing on the back of her gown.
I had SO much fun taking photos with the wedding party – this group was awesome. Full of laughter and fun and excitement.
Check out those black suits!!!
I took advantage of the beautiful light and natural outdoor setting to take some romantic portraits of Michele & Kevin.
Everybody made their way to the Westin Denver for the wedding reception, which was simple, elegant, and classic.
Michele and Kevin chose roses and simple vases with a clean color palette of ivory, champagne, and lavender, accentuated by the stunning views out the windows of their Colorado reception venue.
A simple three-tier cake with piped detailing by the always incredible Azucar Bakery was the perfect finishing touch.
Jeff Miguel from Downright Saxy provided the cocktail hour music.
Every wedding has it’s funny stories, and it is really smart to write these things down because they can be easy to forget on a day filled with so many memories!
On her way to the reception, some unrelated hotel guests helped Michele secure her hair (it was coming loose). They even had bobby pins on hand!
Finally I had the opportunity to give Michele and Kevin some down time together. We found some beautiful views of the Denver skyline for a few wedding portraits.
The soft light reflected off of the buildings and glass of Downtown Denver, and made the perfect soft and romantic backdrop for Kevin & Michele. As a super sentimental Colorado wedding photographer I thrive on these kinds of moments!
Can we talk about this escalator at the Westin Denver Hotel for a moment!? As soon as I saw it I knew we had to use the space for some insane, awesome, romantic, and fun portraits.
This spot is epic and the perfect opportunity for a bride and groom to have a little fun on their wedding day. I actually had the wedding party on both ends holding people off so that we could take some photos here!
This was SO fun for all of us.
Not to mention, a little romance. I absolutely love this black and white wedding photo, a sweet little moment that Kevin and Michele shared together on their wedding day.
Kevin and Michele addressed their guests by offering a heartfelt and sweet toast. Michele’s father followed that with his own touching words, and the reception was off and running!
Even the kids got on the dance floor! Elite DJ (who are awesome, by the way), kept people moving. So much fun!
I loved how Michele’s lace wedding gown twirled on the dance floor.
I spent a little moment to photograph their beautiful wedding rings in the sparkling lights of their reception, a sweet little momento for them.
Wedding days go by so fast, anytime I can offer up sentimental and beautiful details while working as a wedding photographer, I do.
I asked Michele and Kevin about their Colorado destination wedding, and here is what they shared with me.
How did you choose your wedding theme / colors / venue etc?
Classic romantic and fairy tale …..just like our love story
What are you most excited about on your wedding day?
Seeing Kevin for the first time – Kevin seeing me!
If you could pick one word to describe your wedding ceremony, what would it be?
Pretty
What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding now?
It ALL comes together…..enjoy every moment because it goes by very fast!
I couldn’t agree more, the day does FLY by! Take in every moment as it comes and remember that the day is literally memories for life.
I am a Denver, Colorado based wedding photographer and absolutely love working with couples just like Michele and Kevin who really want to focus on love and the moments of their beautiful wedding day.
