Morgan and Reed moved to Colorado on a leap of Faith. 

They knew that they wanted to get married in Colorado, and were in love with everything about it. It just made sense for them to drop everything they knew and move here without so much as a job, place to live, or plan! Talk about spontaneous – these are my kind of people. 

I would certainly say things are looking up for them! They hired me to photograph their wedding at the Chatfield Botanic Gardens in Littleton. Together with Wanda Bonner (Blue Linden Weddings) I’m looking so forward to seeing their beautiful Colorado wedding come to life. 

Evergreen Colorado Engagement Photos

Evergreen, CO is such a perfect spot for engagement photos; it’s full of pine forests and rock outcroppings. It’s a mountain spot not far from Denver that doesn’t require a full-day trip up into the mountains! 

Morgan and Reed definitely wanted to highlight their love for Colorado in their engagement session, so we spent an afternoon there enjoying beautiful weather and gorgeous lighting.

I just love these huge piles of granite to climb on and explore! ​They offer a lot of texture and beautiful, neutral tones which are perfect for Colorado-inspired wedding and engagement photos.

Morgan says:

I love how supportive and generous Morgan is with her love for Reed. They truly are a great match, and you can see it in play with their engagement photos. He absolutely adores her!

Morgan and Reed are a great example of why having an engagement session with your wedding photographer is so awesome. 

For starters, it’s a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera.

Let’s face it, being photographed can feel awkward! Spending time this way before the wedding gives me a chance to show you that you are not only amazing together, but that having your photo taken can actually be fun! 

Having an engagement session before the wedding also give me a chance to get to know you! I learned a lot about Morgan and Reed.

I learned about what makes them happy, what they get excited about, and how they work together as a couple. 

It makes it that much easier to put them at ease on their actual wedding day, when excitement levels are high and the moments are flying by.

Perhaps the most awesome reason to take advantage of an engagement session? 

It’s FUN. I promise. We have a really great time, and the truth is, I just love my couples! 

Can we also talk about this lighting for a moment? I love golden hour for portraits.

They could not have asked for better weather for their engagement session in Evergreen; it was sunny, warm, and clear! 

By sticking around for the sun to fall behind the mountain, we get to see the sky light up in beautiful sunset colors. It’s romantic and quiet, peaceful and so very ‘Colorado’.

Part of what drew Morgan and Reed to the Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms for their Colorado wedding was the rustic, outdoor feel. 

So it made sense to keep up with that theme for their Evergreen engagement session! We found this rustic old building, it’s siding weathered from years of Colorado sun and snow. 

​I love her elegant, unexpected white dress against the more rustic backdrop!
